January this year has seen 121 dengue cases compared to only 42 in the same period last year.
Bogor municipality has yet to put people on alert dengue fever despite an increasing number of cases in the area.
“The number of dengue case this year is higher than last year. But we’re still discussing it with the [Bogor] health agency,” Bogor Mayor Bima Arya said on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
There have been 121 dengue cases in January compared to only 42 cases in the same period last year.
Bima instructed his subordinates and all Bogor residents to work together to prevent the dengue outbreak from spreading.
Dengue fever case have also been found in Bogor regency, with number of case doubling from the same period last year, or 150 cases so far this year compared to 40-50 cases in January last year.
Bogor Regency Health Agency head of disease prevention Agus Fauzi said the dengue cases mostly broke out in densely populated areas like Cibinong and Cileungsi. (vla)
