Residents of Villa Santika Residency in Pancoran Mas, Depok, West Java, discovered the bruised body of a 2-month-old baby in one of the houses in the complex.
Pancoran Mas Police chief Comr. Roni Agus Wowor said the baby girl had bruises all over her head.
“Residents immediately reported their finding to the police,” Roni said on Monday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Roni went on to say that some residents said they heard a baby crying at around 6:30 a.m. but it went silent after a while.
Some witnesses said they saw a woman carrying the baby.
“We have questioned three eyewitnesses on the chronology of the finding and to reveal the identity of the woman who carried the baby,” he said.
The body was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta. (vla)
