A 60-year-old man was allegedly killed by his son after scolding him for drinking alcohol in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
The father, Abdurachman, had gone to a security post where his son was hanging out on Tuesday afternoon and told the 24-year-old to stop drinking and go home right away, Cengkareng Police chief Comr. H Khoiri said.
Khoiri said the son, identified as PI, was embarrassed and angry but followed his father home.
Once home, the two got into a heated argument in the kitchen.
“While quarreling PI took a sickle and allegedly slashed his father's neck,” Khoiri said on Wednesday. “The victim was rushed to hospital but died due to blood loss.”
PI is being detained at Cengkareng Police station. (gis)
