hat was supposed to be a perfect day turned chaotic after a wedding stage purportedly set up above a river collapsed, prompting the bride and groom, who were wearing their wedding attire, to fall into the river.
In a one minute and 19 second video circulating on a messaging app, a number of guests can be seen falling into the river and as they struggle to get out.
A few seconds later, footage is shown from underneath the stage, where the bride and groom emerge. The bride appears to be struggling to get out, but is seen smiling as people start to show concern about her condition.
“The incident took place on Saturday in Kapuk subdistrict, Cengkareng, West Jakarta,” Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency head Jupan Royter told The Jakarta Post on Monday, adding that no casualties had been reported.
“We advise [residents] to avoid setting up a stage above a river. You never know what could happen,” he added.
