man allegedly killed his wife and 7-month-old baby in Blitar, East Java, on Friday by stabbing her with a kitchen knife while she was carrying their child in their house.
Neighbors said Nardi, 44, and the victim, Sri Dewi, 25, argued for two days before the incident.
Neighborhood unit head Hariono told tribunnews.com on Sunday that the argument was caused by jealousy. He said the wife suspected him of having an affair and also complained about Nardi's smoking.
“The couple had fought for two days before the incident. But [the fight] had already been mediated [in my house],” Hariono said.
A clove seller and livestock farmer, Nardi rarely interacted with his neighbors despite being the neighborhood’s prayer leader, Hariono said. (mai)
