A fire broke out in a densely populated neighborhood in Krukut, Tamansari, West Jakarta, on Tuesday.
West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head of fire control Rompis Romlih said he received a report of the fire at about 9:50 a.m.
“The fire came from one of the resident's houses and quickly spread to nearby houses, because the houses in the area are located very close to each other,” Romlih said as quoted by kompas.com.
Romlih added that 26 fire trucks were deployed to control the fire. The cause of it is undetermined and officials are still assessing the severity of the damages. (gis)
