The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported two earthquakes in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Sunday morning.
he Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported that two earthquakes hit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Sunday morning.
The first one, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake, jolted the province at 4:54 a.m. The epicenter was located at sea, 148 kilometers northeast of Alor regency in NTT, at a depth of 573 km.

It was followed by another earthquake around four hours later. The second earthquake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, hit the province at 9:18 a.m. The epicenter was located 19 km southwest of Malaka regency in NTT at a depth of 52 km.

Shocks from the second quake were felt in Kefamenanu city, according to a report from the BMKG. The agency also noted that neither earthquake had triggered a tsunami.(iwa)
