olitical parties in the Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin camp are upbeat that the incumbent will clinch victory in the presidential election, with some party leaders expecting a win of at least 60 percent on Wednesday.

As the exit poll results began to take shape in the afternoon, Jokowi and the executives of his campaign team gathered at the Djakarta Theater to watch a broadcast of the quick-count results on television.

“We are optimistic that we will win more than 60 percent of the votes,” said Jokowi-Ma’ruf campaign team executive Moeldoko on Wednesday.

Hanura Party chairman Oesman Sapta Odang said the coalition was upbeat that Jokowi-Ma’ruf would beat rival Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno by a margin of 10 to 15 percent.

Other high-profile figures, who joined the gathering, included Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, as well as other party leaders.

Jokowi joined tens of millions of voters who cast their ballots in the simultaneous presidential and legislative elections on Wednesday morning. Polling agencies began announcing the quick-count results at 3 p.m. western Indonesian time.
