deceased baby boy was found in a black plastic bag on the rooftop of a house on Jl. Beting Remaja, Koja, North Jakarta, on Sunday morning.

Koja Police criminal unit head Adj. Comr. Andry Suharto said the body was found at around 7 a.m.

He explained that two eyewitnesses, a couple S, 47, and BS, 44, who lived next to the house, saw a suspicious plastic bag on the rooftop of their neighbor’s house.

BS attempted to take the plastic bag.

“At first, the two eyewitnesses, who live next to the scene, opened their window on the second floor. When they saw a black plastic bag, BS took a piece of wood with a hook and took it down,” he said on Sunday, kompas.com reported.

“When they found a baby’s body, they immediately reported it to the neighborhood unit [RT] head,” he added.

Meanwhile, Andry said another eyewitness, identified as JS, had seen a man and woman arguing around the scene at midnight on Sunday. The woman was reportedly carrying a black plastic bag.

“The third eyewitness [JS] does not know the two. [JS said] they looked like they were in an argument and a black plastic bag with unidentified content was being carried. The eyewitness has described the appearance of the two people,” Andry said.

The police are probing the case and questioning more eyewitnesses to identify the man and woman. (sau)
