The fair opens from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. on weekends. Meanwhile, on the day of Idul Fitri, it operated only from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
raditional Betawi omelette kerak telor was among the most popular local foods served at this year's Jakarta Fair in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
On the day of Idul Fitri, June 5, hundreds of people crowded the stalls at the hall’s junctions and waysides to have a taste of this must-try menu item at the Jakarta Fair.
"It feels incomplete celebrating Idul Fitri without trying kerak telor. There is something missing throughout the next year," said Herna, a 34-year-old private employee who went there with her husband and 5-year-old daughter.
Meanwhile for Yusuf, 40, another visitor who went to the expo with his wife, having kerak telor at the Jakarta Fair gave him personal satisfaction.
"Tasting kerak telor here makes me feel like I am in the moment of joy with many people around," he said.
According to Jawir, 45, a kerak telor seller at a junction in front of Hall E, each day he can sell up to 200 portions of kerak telor.
"The price is only Rp 25,000 (US$1.50) for both types of kerak telor with chicken and duck eggs," said Jawir, originally from Warung Buncit, South Jakarta.
