yiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) in Banda Aceh, Aceh has opened doctoral programs specializing in tropical medicine and disaster management.
According to the university’s first vice rector, Marwan, the programs will admit new students once a year and is currently accepting applications until June 14.
“We want to prepare our graduates with exceptional skills so they are able to compete with others in the field,” he said as quoted by Antara on Tuesday.

Those interested in the programs can apply through the university’s website (s3ilmukedokteran.fk.unsyiah.ac.id) or pendaftaran-pps.unsyiah.ac.id. Applicants are also required to attend an interview session on July 5 and TOEFL and Academic Potential Test (TPA) on July 6.
A successful applicant will have passed all entrance test stages, be in possession of a research proposal and recommendation letter from two experts in their prospective area of study.
“We hope these doctoral programs improve the nation’s medical schools, especially in Unsyiah,” Marwan said. (dpk/mut)
