ity-owned transportation company PT MRT Jakarta has announced the appointment of two new members to its board of commissioners at a shareholders’ meeting on May 31: Muhammad Syaugi as president commissioner and Adnan Pandu Praja as commissioner.

"Muhammad Syaugi served as the Defense Ministry's defense planning director general in 2014-2017 and the head of Basarnas [National Rescue and Search Agency] in 2017-2019," MRT Jakarta corporate secretary Muhamad Kamaludin said on Wednesday in a written statement.

Syaugi retired from Basarnas in January and takes up his new post from acting president commissioner Rukijo, who will remain on the board as a commissioner.

"Adnan Pandu Praja served as the Corruption Eradication Commission [KPK] deputy chairman in 2011-2015 and as a member of the TC 309 ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System in 2017," he added.

Adnan was also a member of the Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno campaign team during the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

With the new appointments, the MRT Jakarta board of commissioners is now composed of president commissioner Syaugi and commissioners Adnan, Rukijo, Muhtasor, and Zulkifri.
