The logo would also function as the administration’s official seal of approval of local handcrafted goods and culinary items.
The Bogor administration in West Java has launched the official logo for "100 persen Bogor Pisan" (100 percent authentically Bogor), which will be featured on all products made by local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an effort to raise awareness of the region’s burgeoning entrepreneurship.
Bogor Trade and Industry Agency head Ganjar Gunawan said the launch of the logo was in line with Trade Ministerial Decree No. 47/2016 on increasing the consumption of homegrown products.
According to the latest data from the ministry, national consumption of locally made products reaches 89 percent.
Ganjar said the logo would also function as the administration’s official seal of approval for local handcrafted goods and culinary items.
The logo comprises the outlines of a deer head and a banner featuring the slogan "100 persen Bogor Pisan" written in bold orange typeface, set against the backdrop of a green shield. The shield symbolizes protection against fraud, while the drawing of a deer head is a reference to the city’s iconic animal.
Local SME owners who want their products to carry the logo can register at the Bogor Trade and Industry Agency.
Data from the agency shows that there were around 4,726 SMEs in Bogor as of 2018. (rfa)
