he main thoroughfare in Central Jakarta will be closed for several hours on Friday and Saturday in preparation for Jakarta’s anniversary celebration, which falls on June 22.
According to a circular sent by the Jakarta administration on Thursday, roads between the Sarinah department store and Dukuh Atas area will be closed and traffic diverted from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 3 p.m. until midnight on Saturday.
Details on the traffic diversion have yet to be announced.
JL. MH Thamrin through the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle will be affected by preparations for anniversary events, which will take place on Saturday at 5 p.m. onwards.
