he Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, is getting ready to host the Indonesia International Toys and Kids Expo 2019 (IITE), said to be the largest toy exhibition in Southeast Asia.

The event, which will run from July 18 to 20, is organized by Chao Yu Expo, the Indonesian Toys Association (AMI) and Peraga Expo.

Chao Yu vice general manager Nelson Hou said 350 toymakers from Asia, including from China, Malaysia, South Korea, India and Japan, as well as 24 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Indonesia would take part in the event.

He said some 40,000 products were expected to be displayed during the event, from wooden to plastic toys and electronic devises. “This is a good event for players in the toy industry to expand their networks and businesses,” said Nelson at a press conference in Jakarta, as quoted by kontan.co.id.

He said the IITE was a business-to-business (B2B) event enabling players in the industry to collaborate and exchange information, which was important for their long-term business development.

Nelson added he believed the event would be a professional and influential B2B fair, as the organizers would prepare a special hall for premium and high-quality products. “I hope visitors will get business opportunities from the event,” he said.

Meanwhile, AMI chairman Sutijadi Lukas expressed hope that the local toy industry could benefit from the fair. (bbn)
