nown for uploading daily vlogs, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo updated the cyber world with his intention to follow the undercut hairstyle trend.

On his Instagram account @jokowi, Jokowi updated his 22.6 million followers with a 52-second video of him sitting by his regular barber, Kang Herman. The President had specifically inquired about today’s youth go-to hairstyle.

Kang Herman, who has regularly tended the President's hair since he was the governor of Jakarta, offered the undercut hairstyle to the President. “It’s a style in which the hair on each side of the head is shorter, with the top part slicked back.”

Jokowi said he wanted to try it the following week, repeatedly saying "undercut" in an attempt to memorize.

The video has currently been watched by over 710,000 people, with more than 190,000 likes and 4,076 comments.

Kang Herman has been Jokowi’s sole hairstylist for every event he attended, one of them was when Jokowi visited Garut, West Java to place a foundation stone for the Garut Barbers Union (PPRG) housing development, on Jan. 21. Garut regency is known as home to barbers all over Java, collectively known by the nickname "Asgar", short for "Originally from Garut".

According to Herman, Jokowi wasn’t interested in choosing a new hairstyle as he was “loyal to one style”. Ever since working for Jokowi, Herman’s business has been thriving and more people are coming to his barbershop. (dmy)
