View all search resultsfire broke out on an oil pipeline at state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina’s Refinery Unit (RU) V in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, reportedly during repair works on the pipeline, on Thursday morning.
Pertamina regional spokesman Heppy Wulansari said in a press statement that the fire broke out at around 9:30 a.m. Central Indonesian Time. No casualties have been reported.
Pertamina deployed four fire trucks, which isolated the fire and extinguished the main pipeline blaze as of noon, he added.
“The cause of the fire is still under investigation by an internal Pertamina team,” he said.
