About 18.5 million tourists visited Singapore last year, of which 3 million were from Indonesia
ublicly listed retail company PT Erajaya Swasembada has invested in Singapore-based startup Datapro, which provides WiFi on-the-go services for tourists.
Erajaya director for marketing communications Djatmiko Wardoyo said the investment value was not big. However, he said it would grow along with the growth of the company.
“Since it [Datapro] is a start-up, we do not look at the value, but the business potential that it has,” Djatmiko told reporters on Monday. He added that the large number of Indonesian tourists visiting Singapore every year could bolster the business.

He said the company was optimistic about its investment in Datapro, saying that both parties had their own competencies. “We look up to Datapro for providing the idea [in the era of the sharing economy], while we offer our expertise in the retail business with a wide network of distribution [stores].” (asp)
