The office will be dissolved on Oct. 19.
residential Chief of Staff Moeldoko has said his office will be dissolved once the Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Jusuf Kalla administration is over on Oct. 20, and will be replaced with a similar body.
“Yes, according to the rule, on [Oct.] 19 the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff [KSP] will be dissolved,” Moeldoko said on Thursday, kompas.com reported.
Moeldoko said a new similar body would be established to help the upcoming Jokowi and Ma’ruf Amin administration, however the new body might not be called the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff.
“It is still under discussion [...] whether or not it will be called the Office of the Presidential Chief of Staff, we’ll see,” the former Indonesian Military commander said.
Previously, the office served to receive input and complaints from citizens.
Moeldoko said the new body would have an additional task as a “delivery unit.”
“This delivery unit works if the President has ordered something in a Cabinet meeting that must be guarded until the end. It must be clear who does what. We can’t just let something go away without supervision,” Moeldoko said. (ami)
