The trains are manufactured by state-owned PT Industri Kereta Api Indonesia (INKA) in Madiun, East Java, with 60 percent of its materials locally sourced, in line with the local content requirement (TKDN).
LRT Jabodebek will operate 31 trains, each with six cars and a capacity of some 1,500 passengers. The service is expected to help alleviate congestion in Jakarta and its satellite cities.
