PLN guarantees electricity supply for priority tourist destinations, ports

tate-owned electricity company PLN has agreed to provide enough electricity for the government’s 10 priority tourist destinations and shore power connections in 11 seaports in the country.
A memorandum of understandings (MOUs) for the power supply was signed in Jakarta on Monday by PLN president director Sripeni Inten Cahyani and the Tourism Ministry’s deputy for tourist destination development Dadang Rizki Rahman, secretary R Kurleni Ukar and port operator Pelindo III general director Doso Agung.
PLN agreed to provide 241,000 kilovolt ampere (kVA) of power to 10 priority tourist destinations: Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Tanjung Kelayang in Bangka Belitung, Tanjung Lesung in Banten, the Thousand Islands, the Borobudur temple in Central Java, the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi and Morotai in North Maluku.
Under the MOU signed with Pelindo III, PLN also agreed to supply 29.892 kVA for shore power connections at the port operator’s 11 ports and terminals: the Bagendang Sampit and Kumai ports in Central Kalimantan, Kumai and Banjarmasin ports in South Kalimantan, Tenau Kupang and Maumere ports in East Nusa Tenggara, Tanjung Intan and Tanjung Emas ports in Central Java, the Surabaya Petikemas Terminal and Semen Tuban in East Java.
