Sri Mahendra Satria Wirawan resigned on Friday from his post as Jakarta Development Planning Board (Bappeda) head, while Edy Junaedi reportedly resigned on Thursday as Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency head.
Mahendra publicly announced his resignation at a press conference at City Hall on Friday. "As you might be aware, the current situation requires Bappeda to perform better. I have submitted my resignation in the hope that Bappeda can be improved further in the future,” Mahendra told reporters on Friday.
Speaking at the same occasion, Anies said he was surprised by Mahendra's decision.

Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) head Chaidir said Edy submitted his resignation Thursday night.
Edy will serve as a staff member at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Chaidir said. Chaidir said Edy had wanted to take up the new position.
