tate-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir has reportedly dismissed an independent commissioner of state fertilizer holding company PT Pupuk Indonesia, Yanuar Rizky, before the end of his term.

Yanuar confirmed the dismissal on Thursday, saying there was something odd about the move without elaborating further.

"I cannot reveal it publicly, but it seems that [the minister] manages the company with a 'like and dislike' policy," Yanuar said as quoted by kompas.com.

He further said the dismissal came earlier than it should have, as he was supposed to occupy the position until June 5 this year.

Since he took up the position as SOEs minister in November last year, Erick has made a string of decisions that have rocked the ministry and enterprises under its supervision.

Among his decisions was to appoint former Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama as chief commissioner of oil and gas holding company Pertamina.
