Jokowi offers 10 stadiums for Under-20 World Cup. FIFA wants four

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has stressed the need for Indonesia to have proper stadiums, transportation systems and accommodation to host the FIFA Under-20 World Cup soccer tournament in 2021. He also pointed out the need for an efficient transportation system to maintain connectivity between venues throughout the tournament, which will run from May 20 to June 11, 2021. Indonesia hopes that FIFA will use six stadiums, instead of the four the soccer organization has requested, for the 2021 competition. Indonesia has offered a 10-stadium plan. The President said he had had received reports on the 10-stadium proposal for the three-week tournament.
