The Health Ministry announced 247 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 2,738.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 12 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 221.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 204.
The capital city recorded 135 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 1,369. Meanwhile, West Java reported 80 new cases, South Sulawesi 15, and Banten seven.
The virus has spread to 32 of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
