director of Simpang Tiga orphanage in Medan Petisah district, Medan, North Sumatra is on trial at Medan District Court for allegedly raping a child under his care over the course of seven years.
If convicted, the suspect, identified only by the initials ENS, faces up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to Rp 5 billion (US$363,500) under the Child Protection Law.

Riri went on to say that ENS, who had a total of 25 children under his care, was also a member of the Medan child protection task force.
Separately, the head of the child division of the Medan Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Community Empowerment office, Delisah Nasution, confirmed Riri’s claim about ENS’ status in the child protection task force.
Delisah told The Jakarta Post on Monday that ENS would immediately be dismissed from the task force. “[We’re] in the process of his dismissal.”
