The Jakarta administration has postponed a plan to put a face mask on the landmark statue of Gen. Sudirman on Jl. Jendral Sudirman in Central Jakarta.
Previously, the administration had said that it planned to install the face mask on the statue. However, there was no further information as to when the activity would take place.
Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) spokesperson Saepuloh said the rescheduled date for the installation would be announced later. The agency was set to assist the administration in doing the job.

“We will announce the alternative date later,” he told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
Previously, the fire agency’s head, Satriadi Gunawan, had confirmed the plan, despite failing to explain the purpose of attaching a face mask to the statue. He was also unable to confirm whether Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan would take part in the mask installation.
“It is still a tentative plan,” Satriadi said, adding that the agency would conduct the installation using its fire and rescue equipment.
