“We will continue to carry out the 1 million house program because a house is one of the basic needs people have to fulfill,” Basuki was quoted as saying in a statement published on Thursday.
resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s flagship 1 million house program failed to meet its annual development target in 2020 as the pandemic hit the real estate sector.
The Public Works and Housing Ministry reported Friday that only 965,217 new houses were developed last year, falling short of the annual target of 1 million.
Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the COVID-19 pandemic made it even more important for people to have a house as a shelter to prevent virus transmission.
“We will continue to carry out the 1 million house program because a house is one of the basic needs people have to fulfill,” Basuki was quoted as saying in a statement published on Thursday.
