e refer to The Jakarta Post’s article and social media post titled “Public confidence in Indonesia’s direction falls under Prabowo: Survey,” published on Oct. 14, which stated that “The Government Communications Agency (Bakom) did not respond to The Jakarta Post’s request for comment on the SMRC survey.”

In this regard, we would like to provide the following official response from the Government Communication Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bakom RI) regarding the SMRC survey findings on public approval of the President’s performance.

“The Government respects the findings of the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) survey as one reflection of public perceptions of the implementation of democracy in Indonesia. The decline in public satisfaction serves as valuable input for the Government to evaluate policy implementation, strengthen accountability and ensure that the public’s rights and aspirations receive due attention and appropriate follow-up.”

This response exercises the Government's right of reply to the aforementioned article, ensuring readers have access to the Government’s perspective on the survey findings.
