Over RM3.5milion in illegal cigarettes has been seized by the police.
Acting on a tip-off from the public, the Special Operations Force (PGK) on Thursday (Oct 24) busted a syndicate which has been operating in Sungai Buloh.
"Three men were arrested," said Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in a statement on Friday.
"Two were found to be Chinese nationals and the third is an Indonesian. The suspects, aged 21 to 45 years old, have been detained for further investigations," he said.
All suspects have been remanded until Oct 28.
The police also seized 21,650 cartons of cigarettes which – when the required taxes are factored in – were valued at RM3,637,200.
Four lorries were also seized during the raid.
