ONE Championship To Host 52 Events At Iconic Lumpinee Stadium In 2023

O

n Monday afternoon, ONE Championship revealed momentous plans for its partnership with renowned Muay Thai arena Lumpinee Stadium. The launch of ONE Lumpinee was announced by ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong at a press conference in Bangkok.

The exciting collaboration will see the Singapore-based promotion host 52 events next year. Beginning in January 2023, each show will air live in 154 different countries every Friday, and this will undoubtedly shine a new light on the sport of Muay Thai.

ONE’s position in combat sports makes the organization the best avenue for fight fans to gain even more access to the sport, and Sityodtong expressed his deep gratitude for being given the chance to work with the highly respected stadium.

“Of course, I’m very humbled and honored that Lt. Gen. Ronnawudh Reungsawad invited me to be a Lumpinee Stadium promoter. I’m grateful to the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and I’m grateful to the Thai people, and I want to make them proud,” he said.

Along with the exciting partnership, ONE has also committed US$100 million to improve how Muay Thai is practiced and promoted across the world.

Sityodtong also took time at the press conference to reveal details on the expansion of the Road-to-ONE series. The exciting competition format has sought to find the best up-and-coming martial artists and give them a chance to fight for ONE.

The organization has partnered with the biggest Muay Thai promotions in a dozen countries in the hopes of finding the next striking superstars, and the ONE chairman and CEO took to his Facebook page following the announcement to further explain the significance of this move.

“Road-to-ONE is the most-powerful network of the biggest Muay Thai promoters in the world with representation from the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Germany, Australia, Philippines, Mongolia, Russia, Thailand, South Africa, Canada and with more countries coming soon. It provides a clear path to ONE for athletes everywhere. If your dream is to compete on the world's largest stage of martial arts, you know where to start,” Sityodtong wrote.

In the meantime, catch all the action at ONE 161: Petchmorakot vs. Tawanchai on Sept. 29, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
