Jakarta Police are set to mobilize 2,348 officers to secure the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and Gelora Bung Karno sports complex during the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

akarta Police are mobilizing 2,348 officers as a part of the Aman Bacuya 2023 operation to secure the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex (GBK) main stadium during the 2023 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

“The securing [operation] will take place in the competition venues of JIS and areas surrounding the GBK used as the training ground,” Jakarta Police chief spokesman Sr. Comr. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andika said on Thursday.

The operation will last for 25 days, from Nov. 10 until Dec. 4.

The JIS stadium would be the venue for teams in Group C consisting of Brazil, England, Iran and New Caledonia, as well as teams in Group E, which is made up of Burkina Faso, France, South Korea and the United States.

The teams will play at JIS stadium for the group rounds on Nov. 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18.

A round-of-16 match will take place on Nov. 22 and a quarterfinal match on Nov. 24.

Jakarta Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Suyudi Ario Seto led a preparation roll call for the operation to secure the U-17 World Cup, the first ever to be held in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
