View all search resultsThe administration of South Halmahera in North Maluku has declared an emergency status in the regency after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake, followed by at least 70 aftershocks, claimed two lives and sent more than 2,000 people fleeing from their houses.
State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I), which manages 13 airports in central and eastern Indonesia, said it would scrap landing fees for a limited time for airlines opening new routes to Pattimura International Airport in Ambon, in a bid to spur tourism to Maluku.
