The police's counterterrorism squad has arrested a national railway employee over suspicions of his ties to Islamic State and seized a cache of weapons and ammunition at his rented home, just three days before the country's Independence Day celebrations.
The suspects had been collecting funds for JI via two Islamic charitable foundations and their arrests will help build a picture of militant funding in Indonesia, Sr. Comr. Aswin Siregar of the Densus 88 counterterrorism force told media on Thursday.
