View all search resultsThousands of students and members of labor unions took to the streets again on Tuesday to continue voicing opposition to the newly passed Job Creation Law, with their protests coinciding with the first anniversary of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s second term.
Clashes between protesters and the police continued for a third day on Friday, as cities throughout the country saw public outrage at the passage of the Job Creation Law and observers raised concerns about the treatment of detainees.
The three politicians, who served as councilors between 2014 and 2019, are Cekman from the Hanura Party, Tadjudin Hasan from the National Awakening Party (PAN) and Parlagutan Nasution from the United Development Party (PPP), all of whom had been named suspects in the case in 2018.
