View all search resultsPresidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said President Jokowi’s administration had begun drafting a presidential letter in which the country's top man would name a handful of ministers to represent him during the bills’ deliberations at the House.
Attending his first cabinet meeting as minister on Monday, Democratic Party chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono sat on the same side of the fence as Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko in the first public meeting between the two since Moeldoko attempted to oust Agus as leader of the Democrats in 2021.
Presidential chief of staff Moeldoko, a former Indonesian Military (TNI) general, also dismissed the speculation, saying that the cabinet remained united behind the President and was working to deliver his development goals.
Rumors have emerged that the President is intensifying his work visits, which coincide with the campaign season, to promote presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto who is running with his eldest son Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Prabowo Subianto said he planned to build downstream factories for palm oil derivative products and promised that Indonesia would have its own locally made electric cars should he win his presidential bid.
Presidential spokesperson Bey Machmudin was quoted by Antara as saying that on Sunday President Jokowi was not present at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, which was reported to be the site of a meeting with former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
