View all search resultsCambodia's self-exiled opposition veteran Sam Rainsy met Malaysian lawmakers on Tuesday in a push to rally support in Southeast Asia against authoritarian ruler Hun Sen just as the European Union considers withdrawing trade preferences.
Sam Rainsy did not say where he was flying to in the Facebook post late on Friday after being blocked a day earlier from boarding a Thai Airways flight to Thailand, where he had said he would cross the border to Cambodia.
"I am extremely shocked because the people need me in Cambodia," the arch-rival of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen told journalists at Charles de Gaulle airport shortly after an agent at the Thai Airways counter turned him away.
