Do your online research
I always make sure that I have done my research for the best events and festivals happening in the city to get a look at what’s going on while I’m there.
If you have to buy tickets, purchase them before you leave. That way you can skip the long queues and find great deals from buying tickets online.
In some countries you can find free festivals, concerts or museums. You certainly don’t want to miss the fun things going on in the city.
Pack smart
I always try to pack less and end up including basic items in neutral colors. When I look back at my vacation photos, I wish I had planned my outfits in advance.
I find that the best way to pack less is by putting more effort into packing and planning your outfits day-by-day instead of just throwing everything together. That way you can choose piece by piece and take out everything you don’t need. Plus, you will look great every day.

Mingle with the locals
Start conversations with local people. You may learn a new language, get an insight into a new culture or make some new friends.
They can tell you where to get the best authentic food, the best spots and attractions in the city, or any locations that are not part of the usual itinerary. Try everything! It will definitely enrich your experience.
Keep an open mind
Things might not always go as you planned. Be flexible regarding delays or anything that doesn’t turn out how you’d expected.
You may have come across something or somewhere unexpected. Keep an open mind and remember that unplanned moments always leave the best memories.
Sometimes the best way to experience is to go with the flow and enjoy different possibilities.
Take a digital detox
It’s nice to take a break from your devices once in a while, especially when you travel. Don’t let your online life distract you and make you miss special moments on your getaway.
Disconnect from your devices and enjoy every moment with yourself and others. You’ll fully enjoy your trip!
