alling all architects and interior designers in Indonesia, the Tourism Ministry together with the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and PT Propan Raya are holding Archipelago Restaurant Design 2017 Competition for restaurants located in the ministry’s 10 priority destinations.

The judging criteria involve local inspiration for interior and exterior designs, eco-friendly and the use of local materials.

“The spatial arrangement also needs to be efficient and fits the operational standard of a restaurant. [Participants should] also think about cleanliness, sanitation and security, as well as waste management, authenticity and ambiance,” said Tourism Minister Arief Yahya.

The competition is open to all graduates from architecture majors and participants can sign up as an individual or in a group. A total prize of Rp 1 billion (US$75,000) will be available for 30 finalists. Those who are interested can register at arsitekturnusantara.propanraya.com.

Winners of the competition will be announced in September in Jakarta during the celebration of World Tourism Day. (kes)
