fter hosting the Indonesia Incorporated event at the HarbourFront Centre in Singapore, the Tourism Ministry recently invited 12 Singaporean media companies, one industry practitioner and several publications from Malaysia for a familiarization trip (famtrip) to Batam in Riau Islands.
On Oct. 2, the group took one full day visiting various tourist destinations in Batam. ate at Rumah Makan Cianjur and La Pizza restaurants, went for shopping in Nagoya, took a spa treatment at Hezka and enjoyed a barbecue party at the Turi Beach Hotel’s beach.

“The spa at Hezka is amazing; the employees are friendly and I feel fresh right after,” added Foodie Vs. The World reporter Gautaman Senivasan.
The ministry's deputy minister for overseas promotion I Gde Pitana said that Malaysian and Singaporean tourists love to shop, explore local culinary and enjoy the spa treatment.
“They also love to go on an adventure and enjoy beach view like the one at Turi Beach; we highlight all of these in the famtrip,” said Pitana. (kes)
