ourism Minister Arief Yahya has officiated the opening of Wonderful Sabang and Marine Expo 2017. This event is part of Sail Sabang 2017 and is being held on Dec. 1-5 at CT-3 Terminal, Sabang.

“We have to manage everything in a corporative manner, including tourism. If not, we will be left behind. Currently the trend is digital hence every single business in Aceh should go digital in order to move forward,” said Arief.

“Sabang should become an international hub, it should have regular events for Sabang – Phuket – Langkawi Triangle [Saphula]. This will benefit a lot of people,” he added.

The expo aims to promote Indonesia as a maritime country to international yachters.

Wonderful Indonesia occupies 10 booths at the event that are designed to look like a phinisi traditional boat. The total area of the Wonderful Indonesia booth is 90 square meters and located at Block C, no. 97 to 101 and 124 to 128.

Meanwhile Wonderful Sabang and Marine Expo 2017 occupies 3.2 hectares of land.

Available at the booth are tourism agencies from Raja Ampat and Aceh, tourism information center, quiz activity, workshop on ceramic painting, 360-degree virtual reality, photo booth, photo exhibition and B2C exhibition. (kes)
