One of the visitors, 20-year-old Sinta Rosita, told Antara news agency that she intentionally came from Makassar, South Sulawesi, to marvel at the cherry blossom.

"I saw it on Facebook and it looked good and there were many flowers blooming," Sinta said, adding that she came along with her family.

Head of the LIPI Cibocas Botanical Garden conservation agency, R. Hendrian, said Sakura Garden was built in March 2007 with Japanese style as the concept.
