ings Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air Group, announced Tuesday the cancellation of some of its flights to and from Banyuwangi and Jember in East Java, following an increase in volcanic activity on Mount Agung in Karangasem regency, Bali.
"Based on the issuance of NOTAM [Notice to Airmen], Blimbingsari Airport in Banyuwangi and Notohadinegoro Airport in Jember will be closed for operation on Tuesday until 3 p.m. local time because of the effects of the eruption and increased activity of Mount Agung," read the airline's statement.
Among the cancelled flights are IW1837 from Jember to Surabaya, IW1881 from Banyuwangi to Surabaya, IW1872 from Surabaya to Jember and IW1880 from Surabaya to Banyuwangi.

All affected passengers have been informed of the news, the airline stated, and will be allowed to reschedule their flights without additional charges.
