Central Java officially soft opened a new recreation park on Dec. 15 as it tries to tap into the year-end holidaymaker market.
Located in Lopait village, Tuntang district, Semarang regency, Saloka Theme Park is said to be the biggest of its kind in the province.
At the inauguration ceremony, Salatiga Mayor Yulianto said he expected the new park, which is situated a few kilometers to the north of Salatiga city, would help boost tourist arrivals to Semarang and Salatiga. From Semarang, the park is around 40 kilometers away or a one-hour car journey.

The park currently has 22 attractions ready out of the planned 25 attractions, which include a Ferris wheel named Cakrawala and a roller coaster dubbed Lika-Liku.
As reported by kompas.com, ticket prices during the month of December are set at Rp 96,000 (US$7)on weekdays and Rp 120,000 on weekends and holidays, which allows visitors to try all the rides as much as they want. (kes)
