nstagrammable is predicted to be the new criteria in choosing accommodations, according to online travel agency Traveloka’s marketing vice president, Kurnia Rosyada. 

The criteria will be additional consideration for travelers after comfort and location, Antara reported.

“Instagrammable spots will be popular travel destinations,” said Kurnia at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday. Traveloka’s user data show that social media often serves as travel inspiration for Indonesians.

The data also reveal that four out of five Traveloka users buy their transportation tickets before deciding on accommodations, which is often done two to three weeks prior to their departure.

Indonesian travelers are also said to often visit culinary spots, theme parks, historical places, ecotourism destinations and shopping areas during their trips. (iru/kes)
