Sriwijaya Air will provide free in-flight Wi-Fi starting in 2020.
Sriwijaya Air Group has announced plans to provide free in-flight Wi-Fi in 2020.
Speaking to kompas.com, Joseph Adrian Saul, Sriwijaya Air’s director, said that since the company joined the Garuda Indonesia Group in November 2018, it would follow suit in providing free Wi-Fi on flights.
Citilink, Garuda’s low-cost subsidiary, launched its service on its Denpasar – Jakarta flight on Dec. 28.

According to Joseph, Sriwijaya Air Group also planned to improve entertainment features with its SJ-Inflight Entertainment. In cooperation with Airfi Indonesia, the feature offers various content such as videos, music, games, children’s programs, news and a chat facility among passengers.
The airline’s passengers can access the feature by connecting their smartphones, tablets or laptops to the airplane’s network via operating systems such as iOS, Android, Windows, Blackberry and Linux, among others.
