Holidaymakers preparing for a mid-year vacation, it’s a good idea to get a head start to ensure a more memorable vacation. Especially for those who think that good vacation photos are as important as hotel bookings, restaurant reservations and tickets to attractions bought in advance.

Instead of bringing a state-of-the-art camera and lenses, holidaymakers can make use of app-based photography platforms to have professionally taken, candid and flattering photos. These are apps that connect users to selected professional photographers in many cities worldwide.

One such widely used photography platform is SweetEscape, founded by photographer and entrepreneur David Soong.

Those who wish to use SweetEscape’s service can book a photographer through the app, and it is recommended that bookings are made two weeks in advance. Following completion of payment, app users will be contacted by a concierge who will help plan the session, share info on the photographer and discuss what to wear and photo ideas.

Within three business days following a two-hour photo session, around 150 photos will be available for the app user to view in an online gallery, and 40 photos can be downloaded.

Embracing the upcoming holiday season, SweetEscape in collaboration with Tourism Thailand is holding a contest with an all-expenses paid trip for two to Bangkok and Khao Yai in Thailand as the prize.

Entrants are required to submit their most memorable summer holiday photos and stories to SweetEscape’s website before May 10.

SweetEscape will choose three best submissions who will win the trip to Thailand. (mut)
