Blue Bird taxi services and MRT Jakarta assure passengers that services remain normal operation despite riots.
ewly appointed CEO of PT. Blue Bird, Noni Purnomo said that she had not received any reports of disruption of Jakarta services following the trouble in the city on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
“[I have] yet to receive reports, but Blue Bird has always served the country's transportation needs 24 hours a day since its incorporation, we have never closed before,” Noni said on Wednesday in the Indonesia Stock Exchange building as quoted by tempo.co.
Noni also added that transportation services, taxis, in particular, were essential for the public in this kind of situation.
“We are operating as usual, however, we have also given directions to our drivers to ensure safety and always be alert,” she said, adding that Blue Bird drivers were also encouraged to follow security personnel advice.
Blue Bird director, Sigit Priawan Djokosoetono said that drivers would serve passengers in line with security measures set by the authorities. “If the road is accessible, of course, our drivers will drive through,” he said. Should there be road blockages, the headquarters will help drivers navigate alternative routes. “That’s our commitment to our passengers,” he said.
