French multinational hospitality company Accor is set to expand the presence of its Raffles brand in Southeast Asia by opening two new Raffles hotels in Bali and Singapore.
According to a statement, Raffles Bali is slated to open in 2020 while Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa Singapore is said to open in 2022.
The company, which acquired the legendary brand in 2016 and recently opened Raffles Maldives Meradhoo and Raffles Shenzhen, also revealed plans to open properties bearing the name in Udaipur and Jaipur in India; London; Boston in the United States; and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
“The Raffles brand is the highest expression of luxury hospitality within the Accor portfolio and we are proud to be growing the brand through curated additions that will allow the most discerning guests to find their perfect oasis in the world’s best locations,” said Michael Issenberg, Accor Asia Pacific chairman and CEO.
“Accor is now the second largest operator of luxury hotels in the world, with over 600 luxury and premium hotels and resorts globally. The Raffles brand belongs to only the best projects and locations so it will always remain a curated collection, but we definitely see scope for careful and considerate growth."
Perched on a hill, the 23-hectare Raffles Bali is situated in Jimbaran Bay and boasts 32 private villas, each equipped with its own pool. Among its celebrated features are the Writers Bar and Raffles Wellbeing Spa.
Meanwhile, Singapore's second Raffles in Sentosa boasts an all-villa hotel on over 100,000 square meters and facilities such as a bar, restaurants, a fitness center, a celebrations room and two meeting rooms.
There are currently 14 Raffles properties across the globe and the number is set to reach 20 hotels by 2025. (ayr/kes)
