ARTOTEL has officially opened ARTOTEL Gajahmada Semarang, located on Jl. Gajahmada No. 101, Miroto, Semarang, Central Java.

During the hotel's inauguration on Friday, ARTOTEL Group CEO Erastus Radjimin said, “We are very proud to open ARTOTEL in Semarang with its abundance of culture and culinary scenes. ARTOTEL Gajahmada Semarang will be the first art-inspired hotel in the city featuring an exquisitely-designed building and original masterpiece artwork by Indonesian architects and contemporary artists.”

Renowned Indonesian architect Andra Martin designed the building, while murals on the site were created by artist Eko Nugroho.

Contemporary artwork themed “Semarang Reimagined” from Indonesian artists are found in rooms of the hotel, including by Eko, Diela Maharani, Ummi Damas, Horestes Vicha, Bunga Jeruk and Zariki Arifin.

The hotel itself is a 12-story building that offers 80 art-inspired studio rooms with services such as MEETSPACE meeting rooms, food and beverage outlets, along with the ARTOTEL signature art gallery ARTSPACE.

ARTSPACE is exhibiting artwork from Eko Nugroho and KRACK! Studio until July 31.

“We are hoping that ARTOTEL Gajahmada Semarang can be the newest tourism icon of the city,” Radjimin said. “We believe that ARTOTEL Gajahmada Semarang will be a breath of fresh air, infusing a new lifestyle trend through its food and beverage outlets and ARTSPACE as a melting pot and creative hub.’’ (ayr/wng)
